StepStone Promotes John Coelho and Scott Hart to Partner

NEW YORK & SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StepStone Group LP (“StepStone”), a leading global private equity firm, today announced it has named John Coelho and Scott Hart Partners of the firm.

Mr. Coelho, 37, is a member of the research team and focuses on venture capital and growth equity investments. Prior to joining StepStone in 2007, he was with ATEL Capital Group, a venture debt and asset-based lender. Before that, Mr. Coelho worked at Unigestion, an alternative asset manager based in Geneva, and Plantagenet Capital Management, a private equity firm focused on early stage and turnaround investments. Mr. Coelho also worked within the Investment Banking group at Piper Jaffray & Co. He received his BS and MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Hart, 32, is a member of the research team and focuses on European investments, energy investments and co-investments. Prior to joining StepStone in 2007, Mr. Hart worked at TPG Capital, a leading global private equity firm, where he focused on the energy, consumer and retail industries. Before that, he worked at Morgan Stanley in the Consumer and Retail group within the Investment Banking division. Mr. Hart graduated summa cum laude with a BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
