Grant Thornton LLP Elects Wedding as Chairman of Partnership Board

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Grant Thornton LLP Partnership Board elected Dave Wedding, 54, Carolinas practice office managing partner, as chairman of the board in December.

He succeeds Jack Katz, who had served as chairman since December 2006 and continues to serve as the Northeast region’s managing partner, New York Cluster managing partner and national Financial Services managing partner.

Wedding joined Grant Thornton in 2005 as a partner in the Advisory Services practice and served as the firm’s Southeast region Forensic & Valuation Services practice leader. He became the office managing partner of the Carolinas practice, which includes offices in Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., and Columbia, S.C., earlier this year. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he was a partner with Deloitte and Arthur Andersen.

Wedding currently serves on the board of the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.

Wedding received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and holds a master’s in business administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He also is a certified public accountant, a certified fraud examiner and is certified in financial forensics.
