Cambrios Wins IDTechEx Printed Electronics Product Development Award

ClearOhm™ Coating Material Selected as Best New Product for Printed Electronics Markets

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cambrios Technologies Corporation, the leader in nanotechnology-based solutions for the transparent and flexible conductor markets, today announced that its ClearOhm™ coating material has won the 2012 IDTechEx Printed Electronics Award for Product Development.

“Cambrios has made outstanding progress in the development and proliferation of its ClearOhm material, particularly within the large area touch industry”

IDTechEx Printed Electronic’s Product Development category honors companies that have launched a new product based on photovoltaics or printed electronics and is in the process of bringing it to market. Though new to the market, Cambrios’ ClearOhm material is already being used in high performance consumer electronics products that are available today, including the LG V325, a new Windows 8-certified All-in-One PC.

An international panel of expert judges selected Cambrios based on the ClearOhm material’s technical development, potential market and benefits over alternatives. “Cambrios has made outstanding progress in the development and proliferation of its ClearOhm material, particularly within the large area touch industry,” one judge stated.

“Cambrios is honored that IDTechEx has recognized our ClearOhm material as a leading product enabling the printed electronics industry,” said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of Cambrios. “The Product Development award is a significant validation from our industry peers that ClearOhm material plays a central role in enabling printed electronics innovation.”

Made from highly conductive silver nanowires, Cambrios’ ClearOhm coating material produces a transparent film with significantly higher optical and electrical performance than indium tin oxide (ITO). The material can be coated at low processing temperatures (< 120C) to create a flexible transparent conductive layer on various substrates such as glass or plastic, is compatible with industry standard coating equipment and can be deposited though a high speed, high output roll-to-roll coating process.

ClearOhm material delivers high transmission over a wide range of sheet resistance (< 10 to 300 Ω/sq), enabling innovation across multiple printed electronics applications, including touch panels, EMI shielding, E-paper, LCD, OLED lighting, OLED displays, Organic PV, thin film PV and more.
