Senior Health and Wellness: SCAN Health Plan Arizona to Host Free Presentations in December

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eating right and managing stress are essential to remaining healthy, especially during the holidays. To support seniors in their quest to live healthier, SCAN Health Plan Arizona is hosting a complimentary cooking demonstration and a “Wellness Way of Living” presentation in December.

“SCAN Health Plan Arizona’s presentations for seniors not only provide valuable information, but also give seniors an opportunity to get out and socialize.”

All presentations are free and open to SCAN members as well as the general public; however, space is limited, so pre-registration is required. They will be held at the SCAN Connections Resource Center at 1313 E. Osborn Road in Phoenix. Anyone interested in attending may call 602-778-3420 to register.

Wellness Way of Living

Through a partnership with Empowerment Systems, Inc., SCAN Health Plan Arizona has offered presentations on various aspects of healthy living throughout the year. This month’s presentation, “Healthy Holiday Eating,” is on Dec. 19 from 10 – 11 a.m.

Healthy Cooking

As part of its Healthy Cooking series, SCAN will host a cooking demonstration featuring healthy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The demonstration, which also features food sampling, will be held Dec. 12 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Just for fun, SCAN Health Plan Arizona also will show “Miracle of 34^th Street” on Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. – noon at the SCAN Connections Resource Center.
