SCRA CEO Presents Knowledge Economist Awards

John Moore and Brenda Laakso Receive Awards at Innomobility Conference

GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney today presented a Knowledge Economist Awards to Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s John Moore and Brenda Laakso. The presentations took place at the annual Innomobility conference in Greenville.

“It is through the leadership and efforts of individuals such as John and Brenda, working together to build and strengthen our Knowledge Economy and economic stability, that we will continue shape a stronger economy for our state.”

The Knowledge Economist Award, presented by SCRA to leaders whose efforts have supported and strengthened the knowledge-based economy of South Carolina, was given to both Moore and Laakso for their longstanding efforts to enable economic development and the technology-based economy through the NEXT Innovation Center in Greenville.

Moore is a Greenville, SC native and serves as Executive Vice President at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce. He has helped to develop and manage the ACCELERATE! and NEXT Innovation Center programs to encourage economic growth. Laakso serves as Vice President at the Chamber and was part of the team that founded and manages the NEXT Innovation Center.
